“My Prerogative” was supposed to premiere at Republicans Convention

September 2, 2004 By Jordan Miller

UK Morning TV show, GMTV, juts aired this from a special report outside the US Republican convention in New York:

“We have reports in this morning that US President George Bush had organised an exclusive, suprise set in New York for the Republican Convention by none other than pop princess Britney Spears. After Spears admitted to be a firm follower of the Republicans. George had organised everything down to the last details, including the stage, setlist and costumes. Britney was supposed to be performing her older hits including Oops! I Did It Again & Toxic, but was also supposed to be debuting her new single, My Prerogative, a cover of Bobby Browns 80s classic. But a few Republicans got wind of this suprise Britney performance, and told Bush to cancel it as they found Britney’s image far to raunchy for the convention. So, everything was cancelled just hours before Britney was scheduled to take to the stage in Madison Square Garden, for the mini-set.”
