Reuniting for a good cause.
Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj are putting their differences aside to unite at Ariana Grande’s benefit concert in Manchester.
Ari released a statement on Friday regarding the attack at her sold-out May 22 show at the Manchester Arena. “My heart, prayers and deepest condolences are with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones,” the letter opens. “There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way.”
The emotional statement praises the compassion, strength and love her fans and the public have shown this past week, and declares that this “heinous” event will not get in the way of her tour being a safe space for her fans.
“I am sorry for the pain and fear that you must be feeling and for the trauma that you, too, must be experiencing. We will not quit or operate in fear. We don’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win.”
She added that she will return to perform a benefit concert to “raise money for the victims and their families,” but hasn’t offered any concrete dates yet.
Lending a helping hand is Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj. They have reportedly signed on to perform that night as well. Both stars have been outspoken about the tragedy. Miley dedicated her performance of “Malibu” on The Voice to Ariana and the victims, and Nicki Minaj told paparazzi last week she wouldn’t stop performing in arenas because that would mean the terrorists win.
