Battle of the R&B singers.

Miguel is still feeling the sting of losing a Grammy to elusive singer Frank Ocean back in 2013.

Did he spill the tea?

**** singer Miguel doesn’t take kindly to losing awards he believes he deserved, and has spoken out against his closest contemporary, Frank Ocean, in a new interview.

“To be completely honest—and no disrespect to anyone—I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around”

The Coffee singer has just released his third album, wildheart, while Ocean still has yet to follow up to his groundbreaking 2012 debut, Channel Orange. Miguel’s animosity seems to partly stem from key differences in their musical output, namely subject matter and tone.

“That’s Frank. Frank is the tortured. That’s his thing. That’s not who I am. I may not be dark—as dark—and I may not be as poetic, but I’m living my real ****.”

The rivalry appears to extend beyond just musical taste, too:

“We’re, er, cordial. I wouldn’t say we were friends.”

After the interview impacted, Miguel took to Instagram to clear the air with a non-apology:

no need to compare apples to oranges 🌊🌊🌊
