Never satisfied.

The last time we were bopping to Michelle Branch, Donald Trump was only a struggling business man, Britney Spears released In The Zone and Lance Armstrong won his fifth Tour De France (illegally). Her lead single then was “Are You Happy Now,” an acoustic guitar-tinged breakup anthem. A lot has changed since 2003, including Branch’s place in music, but she’s inserting herself to the forefront with a serious new tune titled “Hopeless Romantic,” the album title track of her forthcoming record out April 7.

She sings:

“’Cause I’m a hopeless romantic/ When I should run for my life/ You got me on my knees/ You got me crawlin’.”

“I love hearing human stories about people interacting with each other, and the title perfectly sums up the record,” Branch said. “A lot of these songs are about heartbreak, but knowing that it doesn’t mean the end of the world, it just means letting go and moving on and knowing that you’re going to find something better, as hard as that is.”
