Sometimes the best music is inspired from heartache, and that’s what Lily Allen will channel on her next record.
Famed producer Mark Ronson is collaborating with the “F**k You” singer on her new tunes, which is likely to debut later this year. He says it’s inspired by her breakup with ex-husband Sam Cooper.
“We’ve been writing together again on the new record,” Ronson tells The Sun. “I feel like they are some of the best songs she’s written. Her voice sounds incredible. The stuff I’m working on is some of her most honest and heartbreaking music ever. She writes so honestly you can feel it.”
The messy details via The Sun:
Lily and Sam appeared to have a fairytale marriage initially after she quit music to be a “farmer’s wife”. But she returned and her wild behaviour escalated in the past few years, culminating in a dramatic collapse at Glastonbury last year. They were rarely seen out in public after that. She is now dating rapper MERIDIAN DAN.
Lily hasn’t released a new album since 2014’s Sheezus.
Mark added: “She’s like a needed performer. There’s nobody really doing s**t like that, really honest.”
