Mark Ronson just made a huge self-discovery.
The hitmaker identifies as a sapiosexual, meaning he is attracted to a person’s intelligence before their gender. It’s a term Ronson didn’t know existed until now.
The issue was being discussed on Good Morning Britain prior to Ronson’s appearance, Yahoo! reports. As he watched the debate unfold from backstage, Ronson realized the term resonates.
Author Nichi Hodgson was there to explain what it is.
“The definition means intelligence first then attraction. I date men and women and identify as bisexual, and the thing that linked all people that I have dated has been their brains,” Hodgson said. “We know a certain percentage of the population is sapiosexual. It’s always existed, we just didn’t have a word for it.”
The host was keen on looping Ronson in.
“Now we know you are single, and Mark has got very involved in our debate backstage,” they said. “You are identifying as a man who likes intellect?”
Ronson responded, “Yeah, I didn’t know that there was a word for it. We were all arguing backstage in the dressing room. With a couple of your producers. And yes I feel like I am identifying as sapiosexual.”
Presenter Ben Shephard added: “So you are coming out as sapiosexual. Out and proud on Good Morning Britain.”
I’m intelligent, Mark.
