Mariah Carey shuts the door on Tyson Beckford.
Mariah Carey swipes right on her own profile in the “Infinity” music video.
Mimi wasn’t joking when she told reporters her new single to promote her Las Vegas residency, “#1 To Infinity,” was about loving yourself. As we can see in her stunningly liquified but gorgeous visual for “Infinity,” it’s all love.
“Infinity is like love equals you first, the line, there’s a section of the song where it’s like a chant, it’s like ‘you’re leaving, you’re leaving you’re out the door infinity loving me more and more,’ meaning you have to love yourself first, it can’t be all about somebody else’s thing or their issues it has to be you and then you can deal with the rest of the things in your life.”
The video shows clips of Carey performing the song for audiences at The Colosseum inside Caesars Palace spliced with scenes of her turning down a shirtless Tyson Beckford (after she swipes right on Match, rude), taking selfies with dogs and rummaging through her designer closet. It’s everything we’d expect from a Mariah Carey music video circa 2015.
