Madonna pissed off her fans when she honored Margaret Thatcher.
Madonna remains in the spotlight, but for all the wrong reasons.
The Queen of pop is no stranger to controversy. Some of it is carefully calculated (you might recall the Drake attack), some of it by accident (the infamous cape yank). Her latest faux pas is the mistaken(?) adoration towards former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, famed for having introduced Section 28, banning the promotion of homosexuality in schools. She’s also quoted as saying, “The feminists hate me, don’t they? And I don’t blame them. For I hate feminism. It is poison.”
Pretty much everything Madonna DOESN’T stand for.
The “Rebel Heart” singer posted the following photo on Instagram with a quote from Thatcher. Madonna deleted it, but the Internet is forever.
“If you just set out to be liked, you will be prepared to compromise on anything at anytime, and would achieve nothing,”
We’re sure Madonna meant to highlight a boss *** *****, but instead paid tribute to a wreckless, small-minded twit who’s limited belief system impedes millions of rebel hearts.
Perhaps Madonna is really taking hold of the “Rebel Heart” persona, but we’re sure that’s not the kind of rebellion she had in mind. Now, here’s to hoping next time Madonna makes headlines it’s because of her music.
