While mom got ready for work, the kids soaked up a little culture and education. It’s a story from households all around the world. Except in this case the kids were Lourdes Leon and Rocco Ritchie, children of the famous madonna, Madonna, who played four shows in South Florida last week.

Escorted by a nanny and a security guard last Wednesday, the youngsters took in the killer whales at the Miami Seaquarium and romped for several hours at the Miami Children’s Museum just a few blocks from their temporary rented home on Star Island in Biscayne Bay. Opened less than a year in its new home on Watson Island, the museum features exhibits and programs in art, animal studies and magic. However, Lourdes, who turns 8 on Oct. 14. (Rocco turns 4 Aug. 11), proved the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: She spent most of her time in the karaoke room — performing among other numbers — a rousing version of Britney Spears’ Oops, I Did It Again.
