New Madonna coming through!
Madonna’s forthcoming album, though it won’t drop this year, is in the final mixing stages.
The Queen of Pop hopped on the Gram to share a video of her listening to the new tunes – obviously there’s a bunny rabbit filter to drive home the new era vibe.
Unfortunately, Madonna hit the mute button, so we’re in the dark as to what the new tunes sound like. It’s rumored she’s combining African and Portuguese rhythm with pop (read more about that here).
There’s also speculation that the album is titled Magic. Madonna’s team sent out a newsletter advertising a 2019 calendar, and used the hashtag #magic. Madonna has also used this hashtag on Instagram (see below).
All in all, this is a very good sign, and expect the new tunes to drop in the first half of 2019.
According to Madonna Tribe, expect it in Q2 of 2019.

EARLIER // OCTOBER 1:
Unfortunately, Madonna’s new tunes won’t impact Q4.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Madonna confirmed her Rebel Heart followup won’t debut until 2019.
Fans were under the impression they’d get the new LP this year.
In a new interview with WWD to promote her skin-care line, Madonna dropped the bomb.
Here’s a copy + paste quote about it:
Usually what Steven [Klein] and I do is connected to my music or something artistic that I’ve done. I wanted to work with him because I wanted to present the skin-care line and the beauty roller as a work of art, not just a gadget.
I’ve considered this skin-care line to be not gender-specific. I think men like it just as much as women. I would like to create some very specific products for men in the future. I do see that happening ‘cause I know a lot of men like the skin-care line, so that’s definitely in the future.
In my opinion, it’s just sexist to say only women should take care of themselves. Men need to look good, too.
I’m finishing my record, which I’m going to release next year. In between rose mist spray and serums, I’m actually making music. Can’t quit my day job.
See y’all in January. I’m out.
UPDATE // SEPTEMBER 17:
Madonna Is Literally Losing Sleep To Make This New Album For Us
You know the drill by now.
Madonna is still hard at work on her new album (while dodging shade from Cher), and posted yet another eerie-chic photo to confirm so.
Make special note of the hashtags: “What 4 hours of sleep looks like! ?,” she says. “Working. Hard…………These dark circles are for all my fans. ??? #music #magic #comingsoon .”
Brave, vulnerable queen.
UPDATE // SEPTEMBER 17:
Madonna has an important message for us: she’s still working on her new music.
The Queen of Pop shared a little update in a new Instagram post advertising her MDNA Skincare line.
“Yes I’m Working on my new Record………,” she wrote.
Q4 release or else.
UPDATE // JULY 31:
Madonna is the cover star of Vogue Italia this week. In the issue, she opens up about her new album, which according to the reporter who interviewed her, is out later this year.
“Took just one day out of life to talk to the one and only ? @madonna ? about her new life in Lisbon as a ‘soccer mom,’ how the sounds of the city has inspired a new album she’s dropping later this year,” they wrote.
This marks the first time someone connected to the Queen of Pop has hinted at a release date (previous reports suggested a 2019 premiere)!

EARLIER // JULY 9:
Madonna and producer Billboard are collaborating together.
The Queen of Pop is hard at work on a followup to 2015’s Rebel Heart.
We don’t know much about the forthcoming album aside from her time in the studio with “Disco God” Mirwais (Music, American Life, Confessions on a Dance Floor), and it appears there’s another frequent collaborator back in the mix.
MadonnaTribe claims our fav linked up in the studio with Canadian producer Billboard (real name Mathieu Jomphe-Lépine) several times this year, including a session very recently.
He’s responsible for crafting “Ghosttown” off Rebel Heart, as well as Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tracks, “Hold It Against Me,” “Inside Out” and “Till The World Ends.” Iconic!
Billboard himself posted a snap with Madonna and singer-songwriter, Starrah, inside a recording studio earlier this year. The news here is that it appears they extended their recording time together.
This is very promising! Billboard cooks up some crazy sounds; I’m looking forward to hearing how Madonna’s work performs in our current musical landscape.
?+⚡=??????& ❣ @whereisstarrah ❣talented and amazing songwriter and human being! ❣ Some people see a woman of color with a baseball cap and assume I am making a hip hop record with rappers And that is just some racist, stereotypical B.S.!!! That said, I will make the record I want to make and do not have to explain or ask permission to do what i want as an artist. ??????! Never have and never will. 1. Do your research before you make assumptions ! 2. Nothing Good to Say?? Then say Nothing. ? Positive Vibes only please! ?????
