The Queen of Pop is hard at work on a followup to 2015’s Rebel Heart. She recently posted, “feels so good to be working on music again,” but perhaps the creation process isn’t as fulfilling as she let on.

Madonna left several comments on a post made by her manager, Guy Oseary, celebrating the 20th anniversary of her critically acclaimed record, Ray Of Light.

“Remember when I made records with other artists from beginning to end and I was allowed to be a visionary and not have to go to song writing camps where no one can sit still for more than 15 minutes,” Madonna wrote. She also posted a bunch of fire emojis and said “coming soon.”

That’s interesting insight – Madonna found herself working with dozens of producers and songwriters on the last several albums, and it appears that wasn’t her first choice. Perhaps she’s longing for the days where only a couple collaborators had a say. While it’s bad news Madonna feels restricted, it’s very good to hear something is on the way.
