Madonna On Meltdown Controversy: “Sexism Is Alive”

Madonna says “underlying all of this is sexism and mysongony.”

Madonna was not drunk or high during her Rebel Heart shows in Australia.

BreatheHeavy published a piece on Monday defending Madonna against an onslaught of headlines that claimed she was having a booze-fueled meltdown during her recent Rebel Heart and Tears Of A Clown shows. It touched on sexism and ageism in the industry, and Madonna agrees.

The “Unapologetic *****” singer re-posted a note that defended her artistry before throwing in her own two cents. Part of that original message read: “How anyone could believe that she could execute her show, with the precision required to do so, and be intoxicated is beyond me. It’s called physics. It’s called logic. Use it.”

“Thanks for supporting me,” Madonna responded. “Too bad people don’t know the art of acting and playing a character. I could never do any of my shows high or drunk. And yes underlying all of this is sexism and mysongony which proves that not only do we not get equal pay bUt we are still treated like heretics if we step out of line and think outside the box!”

Online publications claimed Madonna was spiraling out of control, drinking on stage, slurring her words and falling over due to her custody battle with Guy Richie.

Madonna ended her note with: “Sexism is alive and kicking but i am ❤️#livingforlove.”
