Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello channel their inner Bonnie & Clyde in the “Bad Things” music video.
“Bad Things” was listed as one of Time’s top five worst songs of 2016, but what do they know? The electro power ballad, which samples Fastball’s “Out Of My Head,” finds the pair singing about their mad love for one another, and that storyline bleeds into the upcoming visual for the track.
Cabello told Billboard the song is about “loving somebody and them bringing out a wild side in you.” Kelly reflected that narrative, saying “There’s something about America’s sweetheart and America’s bad boy.”
He added: “That juxtaposition is what everyone desires. Prior to this it was ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ from Jay and Beyoncé, going back further you have Romeo and Juliet.”
The two shared a preview for the visual, which shows the two embroiled in an intoxicating romantic relationship that thrives on danger. A kind of fling America’s sweetheart and America’s bad boy would involve themselves in.
They also performed the song together on The Tonight Show on Wednesday (Nov. 30):
