M.I.A. Is Surrounded In ‘Borders’ Music Video: Watch

November 27, 2015 By Jordan Miller

Watch the latest ‘Matahdatah’ installment.

M.I.A. knows what’s up.

M.I.A. is one with the people in the music video for her new single “Borders,” the latest release off her visual album ‘Matahdatah’.

The rap empress is surrounded by refugees in the new self-directed clip. She, and the hundreds of men accompanying her, are pictured either climbing fences, laying lifeless in a boat drifting to sea or forming the shape of one with their bodies. At one point, M.I.A. is rocking a Paris Saint-Germain soccer shirt with the sponsor Fly Emirates’ logo replaced with the words “Fly Pirates.”

The song is one part of her “full-length album and film experience about borders.”
