UPDATED: Zayn Malik makes his first appearance on a song sans One Direction.

Zayn Malik’s tackling Rae Sremmurd’s “No Type” is actually pretty legit.
We’re wary of any solo material Zayn Malik embarks on since his departure from One Direction, but his latest collaboration with Mic Righteous is surprisingly all good.
Per usual, shady antics surrounding any post One Direction endeavor ensue, this time involving the rapper featured on the track, Mic Righteous, being completely disregarded (and eventually shafted, seemingly) by the track’s producer, Zayn’s BFF Naughty Boy.

The unsigned rapper also took to Facebook to elaborate on the situation involving Naughty Boy:
Mental my own publisher gets my music removed from my souncloud lol, thats why i lost respect for them. Fuck stepping on…

Malik sounds calm and collected on Sremmurd’s song, singing “I ain’t got no time / bad bitches is the only thing that I like,” and while it’s hard to imagine our precious Zayn embracing a sexist lyric, his confidence makes it somewhat believable.
