Lil Yachty made a name for himself in 2016 with two well-received mixtapes and several high-profile features in the hip-hop world (Chance the Rapper) and the pop scene (Charli XCX), and 2017 might make him a household name.
The 19-year-old has dropped two brand new songs – “Peek A Boo” and “Harley – to tide fans over while he finishes up his debut album, “Teenage Emotions.”
“Harley” stays true to his brand of ‘bubblegum trap’ as it plays out like a repetitive nursery rhyme over hip-hop beats, however “Peek A Boo” is sonically a little more aggressive than we’ve heard from Yachty before.
Even more of a surprise, the stunning cinematic visual for “Peek A Boo” – featuring Migos – was released earlier today. Directed by Millicent Hailes, Yachty was behind artistic direction and the concept, which is crazy when you watch it.
