Liam Payne Might Have A Song With Zedd On Forthcoming Album

April 17, 2017 By Jordan Miller

Tick tock.

Tick tock.

Liam Payne is the last of One Direction to release solo material, but we won’t have to wait much longer. Liam posted a shot of himself on Instagram with the caption “The waiting game.” Producer Zedd commented on that post with “the clock is ticking.” It’s a lyric taken from the DJ’s new song “Stay” featuring Alessia Cara, but fans of the former boy bander believe it’s also Zedd’s subtle hint at a collaboration with Payne. This comes on the heels of a report from The Sun, who claim Payne will drop his urban-sounding lead single in June.

Here’s what else we know:

Liam was writing songs for Jennifer Lopez last year. It’s not yet known whether any of his work will make her forthcoming pop album (or vice versa) or if a collaboration ever happened, but it’s a promising start.

■ Republic Records will back the former boy bander in the states.

Capitol UK will handle things overseas.

■ He linked up with Pharrell Williams in the studio. “Liam stopped by my studio,” the “Happy” singer admitted at the time. “I think he’s just genuinely curious about music. He adds: “we have that in common, he’s always wanting to see what’s new and what’s next.”

■ Payne also teased this dreamy snippet.

Will song of the summer belong to Liam and Zedd? Only time will tell…

The waiting game ⌚️……
