Sheeran announced a social media hiatus. Meanwhile, West wants people to stop asking for things.

Two of music’s biggest superstars are asking people to back off a bit.

Part of being creative is finding inspiration, and inspiration strikes when you’re feeling creative. You see the problem? Just ask Ed Sheeran and Kanye West. Both musicians took to social media over the weekend to kindly request people back off and allow them the space to continue working on their craft.

Ed Sheeran

“Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I’ve missed,” Sheeran wrote in an Instagram message.

Sheeran’s post reaches his 16.1 million Twitter followers and 5.5 million Instagram followers, but it’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon. The “Photograph” singer promises his fans can look forward to a new album, which he claims is his best effort yet.

“To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far,” he said. “See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing.”

West wants some quiet time, too. He Tweeted followers on Saturday (Dec. 12) to chill with the requests and give him time to work on completing his forthcoming record SWISH, which he recently said just “gets better and better every week” and described the record as a “sonic painting.”

West Tweeted: “I’m finishing my album and my next collection… no offense to anyone… I’m asking everyone DON’T ASK ME FOR ANYTHING TILL AFTER I’M FINISHED WITH MY ALBUM”

See you in 2016, gentlemen!
