Lana Del Rey premieres new song/video, “Venice Bitch.”
UPDATE // SEPTEMBER 18:
Lana just dropped her next new tune. It’s the latest release from her forthcoming album, titled Norman F—ing Rockwell – out in 2019.
During an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Lana said the title was inspired by her time working with Jack Antonoff.
“Working with Jack [Antonoff], I was in a little bit of a lighter mood because he was so funny,” Lana said. “So the title track is called ‘Norman F—ing Rockwell’ and it’s kind of about this guy who is such a genius artist but he thinks he’s the shit and he knows it and he like won’t shut up talking about it.”
The 10-minute track is another dark-pop gooey love song. Lana describes the song as “two-sided.”
“I played it for my managers and I was like, yeah I think this is the single I want to put out. And they were like it’s 10 minutes long. Are you kidding me? It’s called “Venice Bitch”. Like why do you do this to us? Can you make a three minute normal pop song?I was like well, end of summer, some people just wanna drive around for 10 minutes get lost in some electric guitar. “
There’s also a video for the breathy, gorgeous love song – taking viewers down a highway from another time.
The Lust For Life singer hopped on Instagram Live this weekend, and during the stream fans spotted Antonoff. He’s responsible for co-writing some of today’s biggest hits, including Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do,” P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma,” Lorde’s Melodrama and many more. Their powers combined could create something epic.
A new photo of Lana with Antonoff AND Marina and the Diamonds surfaced. It appears the trio were working together on new tunes, and it goes without saying how exciting that is; fans have wanted the two pop titans to record together for a while.
See what’s good below and fingers crossed for that collab.
