Lady Gaga's "Cheek To Cheek" To Hit Number One

Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett’s jazz album should land at number one this week.

An early tally from Hits Daily Double suggests Gaga and Bennett’s album, “Cheek To Cheek,” sold 1600 units more than Kenny Chesney who lands at number two.

Lady Gaga told it’s great to have chart success, but numbers aren’t everything, saying:

“I think success comes in a lot of different forms. Chart success is incredible, and when it happens… my gosh… it’s life changing for the artist. It’s a humbling experience. I feel a tremendous sense of gratitude for the tremendous record sales I’ve had over the years. But when an album doesn’t sell as much I think that the success is in its influence… That sense of creative freedom – that was more important to me then anything. It’s always about the message. No matter what happens I’m happy with the outcome because I feel blessed to have a career at all. I feel happy that I have a voice in the world, and happy I get to make music every day and be with my fans.”

Congrats to Gaga for taking the reigns, making music she’s passionate about and ALSO seeing it hit number one.

Wait for Billboard to confirm on Wednesday…
