Lady Gaga shared a new video for “Shallow” featuring behind-the-scenes footage (and Barbra Streisand!!!).
Let’s address the headline. There’s crazy buzz surrounding Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born track, “Shallow.” It’s expected to win Best Original Song at the 2019 Oscars. That’d make Gaga just the 14th woman to win in that category ever.
To breathe new life into it, Gaga shared an alternate video for the track. There’s a passive aggressive note in the intro of the clip claiming French law prohibits the broadcast of an entire clip from a movie as a music video because “it’s considered clandestine advertising.”
Gaga, marketing genius, isn’t going to alienate an entire country. She cooked up new video that’s suitable to air. It features never-before-seen clips creating the film and scenes from the film.
There could be 99 countries in the world, and only one of them has an issue, and that’s France.
