Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” Is A Contender For Best Original Song At The Oscars

December 17, 2018 By Jordan Miller

Lady Gaga could win an Oscar in 2019.

Lady Gaga is nominated in most of the major categories at all the big awards shows next year. Because I’m keeping tabs (talent, acclaim, beauty, success), Gaga is nominated for Best Actress at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and  received nominations for two Golden Globes in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama categories as well as Best Original Song for “Shallow.” Elsewhere, the Recording Academy announced she’s up for an astounding five awards at the Grammys, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written For Visual Media. Her album title track, “Joanne,” received a nod in the Best Pop Solo Performance category.

Gaga could quite possibly receive a nomination at the Oscars next year. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences via Variety announced contenders in nine categories, including Best Original Song. Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s duet from A Star Is Born was included. We’ll know for sure if Gaga receives the nomination when they’re announced on Jan. 22, 2019.

Gaga said she and Bradley will 100% perform “Shallow” if it’s nominated. Read more about that here.

I’ll say this til’ I’m blue in the face, but I don’t particularly care for awards shows. They just feel like a thing of the past, but can you imagine if Gaga wins at the Grammys, the SAGs and the Oscars? That’s something I can get behind.
