Met Gaga Is The Extraness You Need In Your Life Right Now

Mother monster returns.

Lady Gaga co-chaired the illustrious 2019 Met Gala. This year’s theme is Camp: Notes on Fashion. What does that mean?

According to the definition published in Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay Notes on Camp, it’s “the spirit of extravagance.” AKA being extra, and boy did Gaga embrace it!

After taking a mini-hiatus away from the spotlight following a whirl-wind awards season, Gaga exploded back onto the scene with an engaging ensemble that left little to the imagination. The creative clothes gave Gaga four opportunities to rock different lewks.

She started the festivities off in a colossally over-sized magenta gown designed by her close friend, Brandon Maxwell, then tossed the garment to reveal a little black dress, followed by a second magenta-colored dress and then black lingerie. As she made her costume changes, Gaga toyed with different props, like an ’80s-style portable telephone and an umbrella. Meanwhile, her stylists from Haus of Gaga tended to her every beauty need (it was part of the shtick).

It’s been rough not having a daily dose of Gaga in my life these last several months, but she made it up for it in no time today. Now give us LG6 mom.
