Kylie Minogue ushers in her new greatest hits project with a glorious pop jam titled “New York City.”

Look, Golden wasn’t for me. My fetish is techno-tinged bangers drenched in synths and an auto-tune helium vocal, and Kylie’s catalogue is filled with em’. Her new one-off single, “New York City,” is cut from that kinda ***** cloth. It’s the artillery she needs to promote her new greatest hits project, Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection, out June 28. You may recall “Step Back In Time” was featured on Kylie’s third studio album, 1990’s Rhythm Of Love.

Curiously, “New York City” was recorded for Golden and was featured in a medley performed on tour, so fans familiar with Kylie’s live performances will get to enjoy the studio version finally.

The new compilation features 42 songs(!!!) from almost all of her eras. Curiously, Kylie paid dust to Kiss Me Once, which really is an injustice. Though she did include deep cuts from the earlier years, which is a trip down memory lane worth traveling.
