Kesha’s Sexual Abuse Case Against Dr. Luke On Hold

Kesha faces another setback in her ongoing legal battle with Dr. Luke.

Kesha is taking back control of her life, then hit with a major setback.

A day after Kesha opened up on Instagram asserting she’s going to “take my life back. my freedom. my happiness. my voice. my worth,” a judge in California is putting her sexual assault case against Dr. Luke on hold. According to BuzzFeed, the judge wants to delay the case until her breach-of-contract lawsuit with Luke in New York is resolved.

Previous to this, the judge in NYC dismissed her sexual abuse claims against Dr. Luke because she said it did not take place in New York’s jurisdiction.

Kesha is appealing both decisions. Her legal team wants the L.A. County Superior Court to step in.

“We intend to file a motion to lift the stay and to file an amended complaint in this action,” said Kesha’s attorney Bo Pearl.

Dr. Luke’s attorney, Christine Lepara, told BuzzFeed judge Scheper should dismiss the case because “the singer already had the opportunity to litigate her claims in New York.”

Scheper’s ruling keeps the case pending until July 15 when another status hearing is scheduled to take place in New York.

“I will not just ******* be quiet and hide. today I will say **** it and live. So FUUUUUUUUCK it. today I’m making that choice. AND IM HAPPY AS A DAMN CLAM,” Kesha said in that Instagram post.

Kesha is reportedly planning a “statement” performance at this Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards.
