Kesha’s Cover Of “This Is Me” From ‘The Greatest Showman’ Soundtrack Is Legendary

Kesha closes out 2017 with an inspiring power ballad.

What better way to end such an epic year for Kesha than with a song about embracing who you are? The singer recorded her own version of “This Is Me,” a track featured on Hugh Jackman’s new musical, The Greatest Showman. The original version by Keala Settle is also available to stream below.

Kesha tapped Rainbow producer Stuart Crichton for the track’s production. He’s responsible for “Learn To Let Go” and, my personal favorite, “Let ‘Em Talk” featuring the Eagles of Death Metal. Kesha’s rendition of “This Is Me” is as massive and consuming as the original, but obviously far better, cause Kesha.

“I am not a stranger to the dark,” the pop star croons over a somber piano melody. “Hide away, they say / ‘Cause we don’t want your broken parts / I’ve learned to be ashamed of all my scars / Run away, they say / No one’ll love you as you are.” It’s pretty emotional.

The song will be available to stream beginning at midnight:
