Bring back Making The Video, MTV.

Welcome to Oblivia.

Katy Perry has released a behind-the-scenes video that brings fans onto the set of her high-budget, pastel-filtered “Chained To The Rhythm” visual.

The concept video takes place at fictional theme park Oblivia and is filled with unsubtle, wink-wink references to our current political climate and social issues, so it is definitely interesting to hear what was intended.

Katy says that the video was inspired by the word ‘oblivion’, explaining: “The state of being unconscious or unaware, the state of not knowing what is going on around you, the state of being destroyed.”

Director Matthew Cullen explains that the singer created the original concept and oversaw the entire production, which was filmed at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.

Skip Marley, who features on the song, also makes an appearance and we find out how the collaboration came about.
