Move over Mariah Carey.

Katy Perry's Super Bowl Performance Nominated For An Emmy, Stars In H&M Campaign

It might be August, but Katy Perry is feeling the Christmas spirit.

Perry being forced to hear Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” at every corner must certainly take its toll, especially since the record-breaking song is about her, so it’s only fitting the “Teenage Dream” singer is getting her mind right in the studio and recording something happy – and what’s more cheery than a Christmas song? Exactly.

While Perry takes time out from her Prismatic World Tour, she confirmed she’s back in the studio and crafting the replacement to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” It will also most likely serve as the promotional track behind her new H&M Holiday campaign.

She shared a video on Instagram of the badassery, saying “When your derp squad writes a Christmas song in August.”

Also in the studio making Christmas music is Kylie Minogue – who’s said to be creating disco-influenced holiday music. Can Perry compete with that? We think so.
