Justin Timberlake and Timbaland share a peek behind the curtain.

Let’s not get it twisted: Justin Timberlake’s solo catalogue is pretty damn perfect (justice for The 20/20 Experience, it deserves more recognition. Fight me). He’s closely collaborated with producer Timbaland on every album, including the country-tinged, Man of the Woods, and there’s no signs (get it) of their momentum slowing down.

As good besties do, JT wished Tim a happy birthday on the Gram, and shared a clip of them making new music together. The preview includes an audio teaser, and it sounds very JT x Timbaland-esque, if you know what I mean. There’s a hint of class with a repetitive clap and smooth production. Total vibes, but we’ve been here before.

On the one hand, I love their work together; anything they cook up should rock the waves. On the other… it’s all we’ve ever known – I’d love to see JT venture into more experimental territory that’s outside the realm of Tim and Pharrell.

Then again, “Tunnel Vision” is that jam.
