Janet Jackson? *NSYNC?

Justin Timberlake is flying solo at the Super Bowl this Sunday.

I had high hopes Janet Jackson and *NSYNC would make an appearance with JT during his Halftime Show, but the pop star confirmed in a press conference on Thursday that the only collaborators taking the stage with him is his band.

“To be honest, I had a ton of grand ideas about special guests,” Timberlake told reporters.

“We talked about it a lot. There was a whole list…I think Vegas has a lot of odds on it, I heard, from ‘N Sync to Jay to Chris Stapleton to Janet. But this year, I’m just excited, my band, the Tennessee Kids, they’re my special guests and I’m excited this year to rock the stage. So it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”

Watch that moment unfold below.

The Super Bowl is cancelled. NOT bringing out Janet is a bigger mistake than the wardrobe malfunction. Low-key OK with holding off on another *NSYNC reunion, but JANET?! Just wrong.

I sense an Internet meltdown coming.

  1. Okay, but he didn’t actually confirm that there wouldn’t be any special guests. I would be surpised if he went solo, but nothing here seemed solidified.

  2. Janet is a headliner, not a supporting act. Lets not forget how much her career suffered LAST time she joined him on stage. If I were her…..it would be a hard pass on any future colabs.
