Independent Artists! Haters Gon’ Hate… AND???

A video chat with Devin Rodriguez.

BreatheHeavy’s bread and butter is coverage on the mega pop stars. Their fame drives traffic, but I want to use this platform to also shed a light on independent pop artists who could use the extra attention.

Recently, I low-key put out a notice asking for independent pop artists to hit me up to join my Creators program. I met an up and comer named Devin Rodriguez last year – BreatheHeavy premiered his song “All I Really Want Is U” – and it went so well we decided to capture magic in a bottle once more.

We’re premiering his new song “Stay” on Thursday (January 30), but before the new tune drops to streaming services, I wanted to give readers an opportunity to get to know Devin more intimately.

In our chat together, we talk about his mindset going into this new release, being a gay latin artist and how to deal with haters.

Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments. Register an account in 30 seconds and use your voice.

Oh the flavor and the personality and the way he talked about wanting to become a popstar. 😂 He can be my friend. 😂 I love my fellow wannabe popstars. 💟

When Jordan said “like Gaga, Britney, and Bieber” – how dare you mention Britney second here on BH. This is Breatheheavy. She always comes first. Always. 💋😂

I was waiting for him to mention Britney and then he got to saying he loves artists that he can dance to and i’m like, BRITNEY?!

“Latin X Gay Popstar in the game killing it and not holding anything back” 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
See Jordan, “Gay Pop” is a thing.

Haha I had just written about Gaga so she was on my brain 😇. And girrrrl you know I know gay pop is not only a thing… it’s THE thing. Devin coming through with a smooth bop in just a few days!

There definitely is a vibe. It’s very like Troye Sivan and The Weeknd but make it latin x gay pop.
