Vocals on point!

Jessie Ware has been out of the mix for only two years, but her presence was sorely missed.

That’s all changed now.

The U.K. soul-pop crooner has a new single out titled “Midnight,” which premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 before making its way onto the streaming platform fleet.

The track incorporates an uncanny resemblance to “Bennie and the Jets,” but the lyrics are all her own. “You pull me deep into my deepest desire,” Ware sings. “Can you meet me in the midnight? / Call me, hit me, ’cause I know you / You know me / When I’m fading / You’re the only one who inspires.” Ware’s vocal on the track is absolutely stunning.

Her forthcoming untitled album features collaborations from Julia Michaels, Francis and The Lights, Cashmere Cat, Benny Blanco and Ed Sheeran. Ware went into detail about the creation process of her forthcoming album in a new interview with The Fader. Read that here.
