If you’ve been sleeping on Billie, it’s time to wake up! Or else… the 17-year-old singer-songwriter will creep inside your scattered mind and inject a dose of pure pop mania.

Billie announced her new album today, and with it shared a haunting visual for a new song titled “bury a friend,” a hellish, dark synth-pop track about Billie’s harrowing experience as a monster under your bed.

The clip contains all of the grim tricks you’ll find in horror flicks where a demon hijacks the body of an innocent girl and she becomes a walking, possessed little terror. Curiously, it sets the tone for Billie’s new record.

“When we made ‘Bury a Friend,’ and we finished it […] that’s sort of when everything clicked in my head, and I just immediately knew what I needed everything about the album to be as like an overall theme, and just feeling,” the singer told Zane Lowe. “The title I feel portrays exactly what I was trying to say with this whole album. The whole album is basically supposed to be a bad dream, or a good dream.”

Sweet dreams:
