Iggy Azalea Releasing New Music In 2016

Iggy Azalea is readying a new record for next year.

When Iggy Azalea isn’t chatting about plastic surgery, she’s opening up about crafting new music in the recording studio. The “Fancy” rapper scrapped her tour earlier this year due to not filling the opening act slots after she initially rescheduled the concerts that featured Nick Jonas and Tinashe. That claim was disputed by industry insiders, saying some shows only sold at 20% capacity. This lead to an abrupt and painful halt in Iggy’s career – who recently landed on Britney Spears’ “Pretty Girls” song, but was met with lukewarm reaction and even stirred up a mini-feud between her and the Piece Of Me performer after claiming the song wasn’t promoted enough due to Britney’s lack of participation. All of the madness proved too much for Iggy, who later told fans being on all the time was “emotionally draining,” saying “It’s a lot, and it’s tough. I need a break from everything to just enjoy what I worked so hard for, and I don’t really feel like I’ve had a chance to do that. I need a break to figure out what I want my sound to progress to, and I need a break to figure out how I want my visuals to progress.”

Azalea is using the needed break to record new music, and now we have an idea when fans can expect to hear it.

On Saturday (Aug. 8), Azalea revealed her plans to return to music in 2016 with a new album featuring 10 songs – six of which are already finished – and won’t feature a deluxe edition.
