It’s an odd time for the Australian rapper. The fate of her forthcoming album Digital Distortion is unclear. After the “Switch” music video with Anitta leaked onto the Internet ahead of schedule, Iggy revealed the official clip may never get a proper release.
A few days later, she went on a mini SnapChat rant and vented her frustrations that the album still doesn’t have a proper release date despite her label Def Jam originally telling her June 30. As of now, that’s a no-go. Adding insult to injury? A bunch of the songs leaked last week.
You’d never know that messy drama was following Iggy this past weekend when she took the stage to perform the very underrated “Mo Bounce” and her most-recent release, “Switch” (sans Anitta, who was there, but only as a presenter) at the MTV Millennial Awards. The “Team” rapper rocked a red-hot ensemble as she bounced around the stage and performed on top of a classic car. Iggy might not know what she wants to do next, but there’s no denying she can create hits.
