“Sometimes I really feel exhausted by the world,” she wrote at the time. “It feels like anything I do becomes an opportunity for people to tell me why I’m s**t, why my music sucks, my clothes are ugly, why I don’t matter or why I’m a horrible person.”
Iggy added: “I’m worn down. The last four years are just me existing in a world where I can do nothing right and it’s hard not to feel like ‘what’s the point’ and keep motivated.”
If there’s anyone who knows the importance of practicing kindness on the Internet, it’s Iggy. Unfortunately, a follower on Twitter trolled her, and… she took the bait. Instead of turning a blind eye, Iggy lambasted their physical appearance – viewable in their default profile photo.
The troll wrote “Give it up… because you clearly aren’t making the charts! nobody likes a fake rap star.”
Iggy’s response: “Oop id tell you that you should’ve just sat there & ate your food but…”
The Tweet no longer exists, but Iggy, sis… you can’t relay how terrible anonymous people on the Internet are towards you then reinforce it with a dose of their own medicine.
That’s also not the only controversy Iggy is currently embroiled in. On New Year’s Eve, the Australian rapper wore an offensive Cradle of Filth shirt that said “Jesus is a c–t.” 2019 should be an interesting year…
