Don’t get me wrong, when Taylor links up with Max Martin, pop music magic is made. Feisty beats are made. Hits. Are. Made. But the world didn’t fall in love with vengeful Taylor. We grew up enjoying the sugary, airy guitar-lead love songs. “September” is a bittersweet nod to her past. It’s earnestly refreshing. I’m feeling emotional.

Taylor recorded that, plus a re-worked version of “Delicate,” at The Tracking Room in Nashville, Tennessee as part of her new Spotify Singles series. Sorry, Apple Music ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
