Let’s help the song get a new peak.

Thanks to star power from Britney Spears, P!nk, Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani, JLo and many more, the Orlando tribute track “Hands” is climbing the iTunes Top Songs chart.

At the time of posting (July 6, 6 p.m. PST), the tender piano ballad co-written by Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and co-produced by BloodPop and Mark Ronson, sits just outside of the Top 10 on iTunes.

“Hands” is a metaphor for bringing people together, Tranter said. “Like the rest of the world I woke up to the news that morning and was horrified and sad and scared. We assigned everybody what we thought would be the best part for their voice,” he continued, “and we asked them all to sing an additional part, just in case. But everybody got it done in time so we ended up with extra vocals. In Los Angeles “Interscope let us use their studio,” he notes. “Mary J. Blige recorded in New Orleans. Britney Spears in Thousand Oaks, I think. Pink in Santa Barbara. MNEK recorded at home in London. Selena recorded in her studio bus. Dan Reynolds recorded in his home. Adam Lambert was in Luxembourg. Ty Herndon the country star was in Spain. Kacey Musgraves, Nashville. Everyone just got it done.”

Proceeds from the star-studded track will be donated to the Equality Florida Pulse Victims Fund, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida and GLAAD.

The song features Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Jason Derulo, Tyler Glenn, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Juanes, Mary Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, Kacey Musgraves, MNEK, Alex Newell, P!nk, Prince Royce, Nate Ruess, RuPaul, Ty Herndon, Troye Sivan, Jussie Smollett, Meghan Trainor, the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, Gwen Stefani, Adam Lambert and Selena Gomez.
