Celebrate Katy’s 31st birthday with some of her best videos.

31 years ago today, the world was graced with Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson and we could not be more grateful.

Katy Perry, as she is now known, first came onto the scene in 2008, with the release of “I Kissed a Girl” and since then she has had an insanely impressive career, breaking records and cranking out hit after hit. Over the span of her career, she’s released a total of 9 number-one singles, has accumulated billions of views on YouTube, embarked on 3 world tours and released a documentary. Not to mention the fact that she was the first female artist EVER to have 5 songs from one album reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Today marks the California Gurl’s 31st birthday, and to celebrate we are looking back at some of Katy’s best music videos. So sit back, grab a coffee and enjoy some of the birthday girl’s best visuals to date.

1. Thinking of You
One of Katy’s first videos, “Thinking of You” casts Katy as a war widow who seeks comfort in the arms of another man. It’s sad and compelling, and overall a great video for a great song.

2. Hot N Cold
This video is amazing for obvious reasons..and also proves that Katy did crazy girlfriend long before Taylor.

3. The One That Got Away
Another sad video about love lost, “The One That Got Away” is more mini-movie than music video…and one that always manages to make me cry.

4. California Gurls
No list would be complete without Katy’s fun, colourful and incredibly sweet video for “California Gurls”, which marked the debut of Katy’s infamous whipped cream bra.

5. Roar
Because…How can 1 billion views be wrong?

Happy Birthday Katy! Which Katy video is your favourite?
