She describes the song as “really happy.”
Gwen Stefani’s third This is What the Truth Feels Like release is “Misery.”
Last year, it was thought Stefani would follow “Used To Love You” with “Misery,” however as we know she opted for the boisterous “Make Me Like You” instead, but did confirm the song’s existence on the album’s track list. Thanks to the Ireland branch of Universal, we now know she’ll drop “Misery” this week. They posted the following on Instagram: “Only a few more sleeps until @gwenstefani’s ‘Misery’ is out! #gwenstefani #misery #newmusic”
Last year, Stefani told Zane Lowe in a Beats 1 radio interview: “I think I have enough for probably two albums. I have to write a few more songs, because I feel like, might as well keep going while it’s there. I had a whole record in eight weeks,” she said, adding “but I want to keep writing. You have to understand how much I couldn’t write, and then all of a sudden I’m writing, writing, writing.”
Stefani describes the song, reportedly written by Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter (Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”) and produced by J.R. Rotem, as a “really happy song.”
This is What the Truth Feels Like debuts March 18.
