Grimes Says Her New Music Won’t Arrive “Anytime Soon,” Calls The Music Industry Trash

Don’t expect to hear Grimes’ new music in the near future.

Don’t expect to hear Grimes’ new music in the near future.

Well, this is a bummer. Grimes was under the impression her Art Angeles followup was on its way, but something took place behind-the-scenes to keep that from happening.

We don’t know what changed, but Grimes updated one of her posts from two months ago and changed the caption to “welp no music any time soon after all music industry is trash.”

Back in December, the singer Tweeted she “just played label new music they rly dig it” and confirmed “hopefully smthn soon” would hit the net.

The “Belly of the Beat” singer responded to a fan’s comment on Instagram saying for this era, she planned on creating some seriously epic visuals. “Even tho its close ish to being done label and management wanna wait til spring or fall (this would also give me time to do videos, tv and visuals. Visuals took a major back seat on AA to touring etc and this time I want everything to be solid,” she wrote. That explains the delay, I suppose.

Let’s hope she and management/label can work things out. Music 2018 needs Grimes sooner than later.
