G.R.L. Member Simone Battle Dies

Simone Battle, 25, from girl group G.R.L. passed away on Friday from what appears to be a suicide.

An official statement from Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records and RCA records reads:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”

Battle rose to fame after she was discovered on the US version of The X Factor then joining Antin’s group.

Simone told BreatheHeavy.com about working with Pitbull on their song, “Wild Wild Love:”

“Pitbull has a very powerful aura. I always feel honored to be in his company, hoping some of his awesomeness will rub off on me. What I like most about him is his humility and warm, genuine spirit. After shooting the video, he gave us quite the tour of Miami. He pointed out the Charter School he built in his hometown. That really impressed and inspired me.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and G.R.L.
