We’ve all been there. You know, having to defend Britney to our hipster friend who liked Yellowcard before they got famous. Secretly deep down, they know you know they’re a Brit fan.

Foo Fighters‘ lead vocalist, Dave Grohl, is the hipster friend who isn’t afraid to admit he likes one of pop’s leading forces. Grohl recently told WTF Podcast:

“I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. If you ******* like something, like it. That’s what’s wrong with our generation: that residual punk rock guilt, like, ‘You’re not supposed to like that. That’s not ******* cool.’ Don’t ******* think it’s not cool to like Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic.’ It is cool to like Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’! Why the **** not? **** you! That’s who I am, goddamn it! That whole guilty pleasure thing is full of ******* ****.i

Well said! However if his guilty pleasure was “Genie In A Bottle” we might advise to yes, please keep that a secret.
