New music is on the way.

In a matter of hours, a huge revelation has come to light regarding Fergie’s exit from Interscope. It is now confirmed that she has in fact signed with BMG, and has also launched her own label as an imprint named ‘Dutchess Music.’

According to a statement via Forbes, the pop star’s new music is “expected to begin its rollout towards the end of the summer.”

When Fergie’s new tunes drop it’ll be under her own label, and that’s a win!

After 10 years at Interscope Records, Fergie makes an exit.

Fans of the Black Eyed Peas alum are awaiting Fergie’s next move, and it’s unclear what that might be. The pop star just shared a fiery photo of her at what appears to be a music video shoot, but the promo is coupled with news that she split with Interscope and has plans to sign with BMG.

A source tells Variety that “the decision was made to part ways. We were all in concert and want what’s best for Fergie.”

They mention it’s not known if Fergie has actually signed anything with BMG as of yet.

Her departure is either really good news, or… really bad news. It could mean all of the roadblocks stopping her sophomore album Double Dutchess from getting released are gone (and thus a near release). Or, all of the material recorded under Interscope will be locked away forever and she’ll be forced to start over. Including her Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross collabs. We don’t want that.

Let’s take a quick walk down memory lane, shall we? Fergie has released three singles since 2014: “L.A. Love,” “M.I.L.F. $” and “Life Goes On.” As Variety so kindly points out, “none of them cracked the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.” I’m afraid if we read between the lines – the split was more like a drop.

Ultimately, we don’t know what’s going on. So for now, let’s revisit the new photo and hope for the best. Pull through, Ferg.
