Feast On Katy Perry’s New Max Martin-Produced Single “Bon Appé***” Featuring Migos

Katy is no stranger to playful lyrics. Some are ingeniously catchy (“summer after high school when we first met, we make out in your Mustang to Radiohead”) and others, well… (“I wanna see your peacock **** ****”). Her new single “Bon Appé***” featuring Migos has the best of both worlds. Even the cover art is wonderfully tacky! It’s also produced and co-written by pop veterans Max Martin and Shellback (Katy’s bud Ferras has a writing credit in there, too).

“Got me spread like a buffet,” Perry sings over a stuttering beat and giddy synths. I want you to really absorb that line. “Bona, bon appé***, baby / Appetite for seduction / Fresh out the oven / Melting your mouth.”

There’s more where that came from. Earlier this year, Katy said her songs “have always had layers to them, never one-dimensional,” but her new stuff is less overt. “I think I used to be the queen of innuendo and I woke up a little bit more, educated myself a little bit more,” she said. “Obviously I don’t know all the answers, and maybe I’m a little bit more the queen of subtext.”

Not everything on her forthcoming record will be laced with sexually glazed goo. The rest of the LP will have “a wide range of feelings and emotions… I just feel a little bit more conscious than I ever have.”

PS – if you’re not feeling Migos’ part in this all, don’t worry. A version without them is apparently being sent out to radio.
