Taylor Swift Pulls A Beyonce, No Longer Giving Interviews

Recommended Posts

We'll move to an island.

Taylor Swift is letting the music do the talking.

When Swift first announced Reputation, she included what Swifties believe is a lyric from the album title track: "There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation." That explains why the pop star has decided to hold off on the press cycle this era. She is literally just releasing music and letting US do the talking. Smart! Lazy, but smart!

How do we know this? A fan who attended Swift's not-so-secret Secret Sessions in London last week claims Taylor's father Scott confirmed so.

To be fair, we made her this way. The media trashed her for an entire year while she dated actor Tom Hiddleston. Hell, this has been happening far before that. Why would she reward the tabloid fodder with new headlines? I see how this is gonna go...

There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation.

This is bullshit, tho.. She got media backlash from her own problematic, shitty choices and treatment of fans/others.

She constantly played the victim. She approved Kanye's lyrics and then lied about it. She sued her own fans for making their own fan merch. She trademarked "1989" as if she owned the freaking year itself. She sued her childhood guitar teacher for mentioning her name. She claimed to be a "progressive feminist" and stayed quiet on important issues dealing with feminism, racism, LGBT-rights and only responded selectively after she was called out.

Source More .. There's really an endless supply of sources honestly

Are we supposed to feel bad for her? She lives up to, and exceeds, her negative reputation in the media...

All of this. Her selective branch of opportunistic "feminism" is particularly egregious. When Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, both of whom are comedians and actual feminists, dared to make one harmless joke regarding Taylor, she immediately went on the defensive and cited, "There is a special place in hell for women who don’t support other women" (a quote she attributed to Katie Couric, even though it was actually by Madeleine Albright, aka the first female Secretary of State). But anyway, it's pretty amazing she doesn't recognize the hypocrisy in reportedly espousing such views, when she openly engages in childish feuds with her fellow female pop stars.

In short, the real reason Taylor is no longer doing interviews is simply because she can dish it out, but can't take it.

you guys are all fucking psychos :tiffcackle:

all she's doing is trying to build hype for the album. she's ditching the classic form of promo (performances, interviews, press, etc) and using mystery to keep people speculating, which keeps people talking. whoever's behind her marketing campaign is a modern genius

Unless it backfires and her album doesn't sell as well as expected. Either way it will be interesting to see how this "era" turns out.

My prediction: Watch it sell 3-4 million copies, which is pretty darn good by today's music standards. :orangu:

Think I read somewhere she's already racked 600k preorders... not confirmed though, but her last 3 albums have all opened with 1M+

Maybe it's she finally realizes that everyone thinks she's a whiny, backstabbing bitch and is too scared to do interviews now.
