  1. Beyoncé writes, directs, and executive produces the new work created by Parkwood Entertainment, in association with Disney+. Based on the music of “The Lion King: The Gift,” and starring the album’s featured artists and some special guest appearances, BLACK IS KINGis a celebratory memoir for the world on the Black experience. Videos for “My Power,” “Mood 4 Eva,” and “Brown Skin Girl” are extravagances of elegance and soul. The film is a story for the ages that informs and rebuilds the present. A reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs. A story of how the people left most broken have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future. This visual album from Beyoncé reimagines the lessons of “The Lion King” for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns. The film was in production for one year with a cast and crew that represent diversity and connectivity. The voyages of Black families, throughout time, are honored in a tale about a young king’s transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity. His ancestors help guide him toward his destiny, and with his father’s teachings and guidance from his childhood love, he earns the virtues needed to reclaim his home and throne. These timeless lessons are revealed and reflected through Black voices of today, now sitting in their own power. BLACK IS KING is an affirmation of a grand purpose, with lush visuals that celebrate Black resilience and culture. The film highlights the beauty of tradition and Black excellence.
  2. Which one of Brit’s album cuts do you think deserved a video but never got the chance to shine? I have so many but the one that drives me insane is “Inside Out”. I can see Brit looking super hot in some fancy bedroom, waiting for her hot, soon to be ex to come “give her something to remember”. So, what do y’all think? What other potential Brit vids were we robbed of? What do you envision them to look like?
  3. the genius and commentary behind david chapelle's work is often misinterpreted and overlooked. it is cinematographically significant and sophisticated it is clearly about reincarnation but some people think that it's about her waking up from a dream for some reason. there's literally a glow around her in the hospital when shes in the same hospital room as the baby . there's many hindu, christian and kabala undertones to it as well. from the rakhi around her wrist to the reincarnation symbolism. britney only requested that she die in the video, opting for a suicide in the initial cut. it became something far more sophisticated. it's really well done and everything is so choreographed about it (From the placement and shuffling of the magazines on the shelf, etc) here's a play by play analysis by me (i have linked at the specific times so it's easier to see what i'm talking about) at 0:46 David and Britney are implying that fame has surrounded her for most of her life up until this point. in the video, the physically depicted fame gives her physical trauma (the camera hits her head which quite literally makes her bleed to death). From what I've read, the paparazzo actors were selected by Chapelle on the basis that they looked a little sinister irl (lol omg). there were prosthetics applied to some of the actors to make them look a little more deranged. in the following pieces by chapelle, she was depicted as someone with fame and popularity surrounding them, but very clearly a lot of talent This BOMT era spread depicts britney as a girl who is confident in her own craft but is only seen as someone that has thus far been overtly sexualizesd in pop culture (she's standing in front of the television to symbolize MTV perhaps). Jamie Lynn is supposed to be the young girl looking up to her and dancing. from my interpretation of chapelle's piece below, david is suggesting that the world/media is choosing to pay closer attention to britney the superstar/hot girl archetype over the actual human being. what we don't pay attention to is how the textbook , backpack, and binders have been strategically placed on the ground, commenting on the morales and interests of america at the time. it's deeper than being referential to BOMT i think. at this point (click) in the video britney has fought with her boyfriend. both of them decide to expose themselves in pricate... and this is the only place where can truly look at herself. she looks in the mirror and stares at what fame has done to her. she recognizes it as fame has exhausted her beyond more than she feels she can handle. while she can finally be alone, she realizes it's too late. lacheplle implies that her death has already arrived, thus explaining the white background where she appears as ghost like figure PRIOR to her actually entering the bath tub. she runs through the halls into the 'afterlife, and finally escapes the brand that she has been framed as under fame she walks through the hospital and decides she wants to be reborn into another life, suggesting that she has a chance at experiencing what life would be like beyond fame. regardless, even in death (Seen at 3:30) the media is still obsessed with her. what's particularly chilling is how someone is still asking for her to autograph a magazine cover while she's zipped up in a body bag. her spirit runs away from her former life. she is reborn again without the same circumstances, or some sort of mystery of what might be (3:49)
  4. Some of you requested me to do this, so I made this "definitive" version of MM. What will you find? A video combining the 3 different versions of MM in order to give the recent filtered version a little more meaning. It’s basically a music video that shows how it was shot, that's the plot. What won’t you find? - G-Eazy, since in both the official and the original versions, his appearances make no sense, don't fit very well. - The scenes inside the house were removed, except those inside the cage (because i like them). These scenes that I have not included, could (in my imagination) be used for another "single" as if it were a continuation of MM, after she left the recording studio along with one of her dancers; and this is where the second video would start. In this way, such scenes could be given greater meaning. (Maybe "Invitation", "Do You Wanna Come Over?"). For obvious reasons, I will not post the video on my YouTube channel, otherwise I will upload it to VIMEO. I don’t know how long it’ll stay online, but it’s worth a shot. I am also not allowed to give you the direct link of the video, so I will only give you the link of my VIMEO profile, so you can find it more easily: https://vimeo.com/luminousproductions Hurry, watch the video before it gets deleted and then come back here to give me a comment on it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: Well my video is officially deleted from my Vimeo so, i will PM it to those who asked me for it!.

  8. I love this old Britney vibes on this performance... she was glowing honestly
  9. It leaked! Edited by @breatheheavy: We have to remove the download links because of copyright. Sorry about that.
  10. wasn't old enough to ever see this, but was this a relatively big track when it came out (for those of you that remember). is it comparable to the wavin' flag song in terms of impact? also wtf is nelly doing.... for some reason i don't LOVE britney's vocals with beyonce's on this (although i guess that wasn't the intention - it was for AIDs and a response to 9/11 too ?) how did music change after 9/11 lol
  11. So detailed and talkative... and obviously beautiful. We all change as we age, but now I finally understand the "clone" jokes.... Britney doesn’t even look or act half the woman she used to be, physically and mentally. Thank God (and maybe her family during the first years of the conservatorship?) she was able to bounce back from 2007 but she has never been the same since. Her confidence, energy and aura on stage are truly missed... She's an iconic, larger than life performer that deserves nothing but respect. May she come back some day...
  12. The reason I'm making this thread here is because you can't make new threads in the Britney section, but you can in the Random section! So, I recently made a thread about this on new Exhale. I don't feel like writing about this all over again, so I'll just copy-paste what I said there. hayu. is a YouTube channel which seems to mostly focus on reality TV-based content. I only encountered them today, after this video showed up on my front page. It’s a very short, 5-minute-long summary of Britney’s 2007 struggles. In case some of y’all are unable to or don’t have time to watch the video, here are some key points made in it: Fame can lead celebrities to bizarre, aggressive behaviour (examples provided include Björk, Roseanne Barr, and Shia LaBeouf) As Britney became more famous, her mental struggles became more apparent (relevant quotes: “In 2007, the pressures of fame lead Britney Spears to a breaking point”, “What we’ve gotta remember is, yes, the fame is intensifying things, but the issues were already there, it’s just now come to a boiling point and it explodes”) The reason for the previously-mentioned bizarre behaviour is often a result of mental illness, and Britney is no exception (in Britney’s case, it’s "severe bipolar disorder") The video presents a pro-conservatorship narrative (relevant quotes: “She is only alive today because she was put on a conservatorship that her father assumed”, “Fame may have lead Britney over the edge, but under her conservatorship, she bounced back”) Some problems that I have with this video are, first things first, the pro-conservatorship narrative. We already know very well that this c-ship is very shady and should be dissolved (I think there’s a thread about it on here and for those who come from old Exhale, I’m sure you remember the massive and iconic thread about it). Next up, when dr. Drew Pinsky, an addiction specialist talks about how Britney’s struggles were born out of bipolar disorder, a headline is presented on screen. This headline states “Britney Spears Appears in Los Angeles Court to Address Conservatorship”. Below that, “The singer was spotted exiting the proceedings barefoot”. The problem that I have with this is that it seems like this is presented as evidence that Britney is not doing well, but really? Someone walking outside barefoot is evidence? Finally, the biggest problem I have with this video is that after the quote I already mentioned (the one about how “She’s only alive because the c-ship exists”), a clip of Britney in what seems to be a 2013 interview plays. In it, she says that performing on stage allows her to become a different character and release all the angst she has. I’m assuming this is presented as a clip of Britney supporting the c-ship’s existence, but performing on stage is in no way related to that. She doesn’t need a c-ship to perform on stage. It’s not related to the video’s subject and, to me at least, seems like nothing more than an attempt at manipulating the audience. Anyway, what do you think of this video? New info: I like how there are many people in the comment section saying #FREEBRITNEY. Also, for those who have been around here back when I started or longer, there is one person in the comment section who you might recognize...
  13. Hi guys! I made a mashup of the 2010s using the Hold it against me instrumental! Hope you guys like it! If you do, it would really help if you could share it and or like the video :) https://youtu.be/frTPUmPU72w
  14. So MTV news channel uploaded this video, very fun to watch, I was surprised to see so many parts I've never seen before One for example, that interviewer asking her (few days before 2001 VMAs I assume) how on the Earth is she going to top last year's performance; little did he know... P. S. Happy Bday Britney!
  15. I love how so into it she is (P.S. who's that hot dancer in the blue shirt? hehe)
  16. The thumbnail alone screams Britney 'Make Me' lol. Ironically, the video was directed by Randee as well
  17. I don't remember seeing this full clip with the host joining in, but it's so nice to see her so excited and comfortable and LOL at her trying to help the host: I wish I can could a private lesson!
