  1. Update: It appears Trump is banning the app in the very near future. He issued an executive order banning TikTok from the United States unless its sold by its Chinese-owned parent company within the next 45 days. Microsoft says it's in talks to buy it. Trump's order alleges TikTok "automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users," such as location data and browsing and search histories, which "threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans' personal and proprietary information -- potentially allowing China to track the locations of Federal employees and contractors, build dossiers of personal information for blackmail, and conduct corporate espionage," CNN reports. TikTok says this "sets dangerous precedent" undermining "global businesses' trust in the United States" and vowed to pursue all "remedies available," including legal action. "We are shocked by the recent Executive Order, which was issued without any due process," the company said. "For nearly a year, we have sought to engage with the US government in good faith to provide a constructive solution to the concerns that have been expressed. What we encountered instead was that the Administration paid no attention to facts, dictated terms of an agreement without going through standard legal processes, and tried to insert itself into negotiations between private businesses." Earlier: Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a Fox News interview on Monday that the U.S. is “certainly looking at” restricting TikTok and other Chinese social media apps, reviving national security and privacy concerns about China's tech giants, and stoking one front in the Trump administration's trade war with Beijing. Pompeo said the administration has “worked on this issue for a very long time,” adding that Americans should only download the popular video-sharing app “if you want your private information in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.” - Forbes Related:
  2. It only took 130,000 Americans to die for Trump to finally take wear a mask. In the United States, generally speaking, people are making connections to another person's political views in regards to wearing a mask or not. That's why we are the leading country in the world in cases - because instead of everyone agreeing it's not an infringement to our rights, rather it's to save lives, there are millions of people who oppose the mask guidelines. Anyway, for the first time ever (in public), Trump wore a mask. Hopefully his followers will join him. Unless... can someone defend why one shouldn't wear a mask while out in public?
  3. A giant Black Lives Matter mural is being painted on 5th Ave. in front of Trump Tower today. Trump has called this a "symbol of hate." Why does this feel so good? #BlackLivesMatter
  4. Former Vice President Joe Biden is ahead of Trump by 14 points in a new poll conducted by The NY Times and Siena College. The stats are based off a poll of 1,337 registered voters from June 17 to June 22, leading among women and nonwhite voters and cutting into his support with white voters. A snippet from The NY Times article: Thoughts on the current figures?
  5. Panic! at the Disco Brendon Urie put Donald Trump on blast for using "High Hopes" at a campaign rally in Phoenix, Arizona. Urie blasted a scathing Tweet demanding Trump cease and desist. “Dear Trump Campaign,” he wrote. “**** you. You’re not invited. Stop playing my song. No thanks, Brendon Urie, Panic! At The Disco & company.” In a second Tweet, Urie linked to a voter registration charity website. “Donald Trump represents nothing we stand for. The highest hope we have is voting this monster out in November. Please do your part.” Thoughts on Urie's Tweet to Trump? Related:
  6. Oh boy Trump is seriously going to be pissed offf bout this https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8443751/American-teens-sabotaged-Trumps-Tulsa-rally-reserving-tickets-hundreds.html
  7. Facebook faced a lot of criticism recently for refusing to step in and moderate harmful political ads... until now. The social media juggernaut just disabled ads administered by the Trump campaign that displayed symbols used by Na zis because it "organized hate." The ads called for supporters to back Trump on his stance against antifa (anti-fascist) as a terrorist group. The ads incorporated a photo of an upside-down red triangle, a symbol Na zis once used to mark political prisoners in concentration camps. How we feel about Trump using Na zi imagery in his promotions? Can anyone defend this? If there's an opposing view from mine I'd love to hear it. Cause I'm having trouble understanding how this could happen in 2020. FYI - Google included the word "Na zi" in their ban list, that's why I have to include a space when typing it here. Related:
  8. President Trump falsely stated during a press conference today that scientists have “come up with the AIDS vaccine,” though that is 100% false. He continued: “As you know, there’s various things, and now various companies are involved.” He later walked back what he said. “AIDS was a death sentence, and now people live a life with a pill. It’s an incredible thing.” Trump was likely referring to antiretroviral drugs, which do have a profound effect on HIV, a disease that ravaged the world 40 years ago and was considered a death sentence at the time. 9. The Trump administration just reversed non-discrimination protections for transgender people in health care, the Washington Post reports. Here's a quote from their article: "The rule change, part of a host of updates pertaining to abortion, birth control and families undertaken by federal officials over the past three years, represents an important setback in the movement for LGBTQ rights. Under President Barack Obama, the concept of gender in many areas of the law had been broadened beyond biological *** to encompass the myriad identities that different Americans embrace." The Health and Human Services said in a statement that it believes those anti-discrimination provisions apply only to “male or female as determined by biology.” It says the change is part of efforts to remove “costly and unnecessary regulatory burdens” that it said were costing American taxpayers $2.9 billion. If you think Trump was for the LGBT community or any Republican. Please wake up. It's the 4th anniversary of the Pulse shooting and right now. His administration is removing laws that protect us. Starting with the transgender community. He basically made it legal for hospitals to refuse service to them legally. Hillary Clinton as a president sure doesn't sound bad. Neither does Joe Biden now We seriously can't afford another 4 years. He could make it legal for us to be murdered and let them get away with it. Is that what you want? We're heading there now!!!!!!
  10. 💪🏳️‍🌈🌈♥️💜🧡💙❤💛🖤🌈🏳️‍🌈💪 VICTORY!!! SUCK IT TRUMP Federal civil rights law protects gay, lesbian and transgender workers, the Supreme Court ruled Monday! The landmark ruling will extend protections to millions of workers nationwide and is a defeat for the Trump administration, which argued that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act that bars discrimination based on s e x did not extend to claims of gender identity and sexual orientation! 💪🏳️‍🌈🌈♥️💜🧡💙❤💛🖤🌈🏳️‍🌈💪 https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/15/politics/supreme-court-lgbtq-employment-case/index.html
  11. I'm having trouble understanding how anyone can support Donald Trump. From all intents and purposes, he's a white supremacist and racist. How else could one explain him holding his first rally in Tulsa on June 19th. June 19th is the anniversary of when slavery was abolished. Tulsa is the site of a massacre by a white mob who killed hundreds of black people. BLACK LIVES MATTER. Be sure to vote this fall.
  12. Kinda catchy if u ask me
  13. Trump is throwing another temper tantrum. In his latest meltdown, Trump points the finger at Twitter, claiming they're censoring him. Twitter included a fact-check on Trump's Tweets about mail-in ballots because Twitter felt the messages were "potentially misleading." Trump falsely claimed mail-in ballots would lead to widespread voter fraud, so Twitter included a message under his Tweest that read "Get the facts about mail-in ballots," and linked to a page with the actual facts about mail-in- ballots. In other words, Trump was WRONG and is scared people will mail-in their votes because that'll spell bad news for another potential win. Now he's threatening to police social media. "Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen," Trump tweeted Wednesday. He went on to accuse the tech industry of trying to interfere in the 2016 election, before repeating an unfounded claim about voter fraud stemming from mail-in ballots. "We can't let large scale Mail-In Ballots take root in our Country," Trump tweeted. "It would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of Ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Likewise, Social Media. Clean up your act, NOW!!!!" Do you think social media needs to be more regulated? Does Trump have a point?
  14. Trunk is garbage. Absolutely horrendous. I am embarrassed to be from America when things like this arise. Beyond un-Presidential. Disgusting. Reporter: Hong Kong. Trump: What's that? China?
  15. Now that we know Madonna is alive for sure, that she did not die in Paris, the Queen of pop took to social media to drag Donald Trump and his god awful response to the Coronavirus outbreak. Madame X is... a legend. Thoughts on Madonna's takedown?
