  1. Even way before I don't know her happened. MC already started hating on jlo. From an interview she claimed jlo is soul less and nothing is there. To alluding that she can sleep 8 hours a day cos she can't sing her own songs or write her own material. From Comments about Madonna and other divas. It's clearly there. She hates pop music and performers in general. She really only respects woman who stand behind a microphone and just sing.
  2. In 2005 on this day. A power was released. The emancipation of Mimi. Which Billboard has deemed the most iconic comeback album of all time. At the time Mariah hated the word comeback. But now she agrees. She went from being the top act of the 90s. To virtually a joke, A has been overnight and one that critics thought could never see the success she once had. Then came mimi. And the rest is history. Her and JD made music history. We belong together became the most successful song of the 00s decade. Making Mariah historically the only act to have the top Billboard song of the decade in two different decades. 90s One sweet day 00s We belong together. Her most Grammy nominated album to date. 10 altogether 7 in 2006. Where she performed fly like a bird (starting an official MC trend end her secular albums with a gospel song) and ended up being the night's only standing ovation. 3 in 2007. Altogether Mariah herself told Barbara Walters that the only Grammys she cared about winning were The R&B ones She won Best contemporary R&B album, Best R&B song, Best R&B female vocal performance both for we belong together. The album has a direct sequel. 2008's E=MC². Which while a success. Wasn't as successful as The Emancipation of Mimi. Happy 15 years to the Album that made Mariah the legend she is today.
  3. Tina Fey quizzed Mean Girls super fan Mariah Carey. One of the questions was true or false: Did Damian sing "Genie in a Bottle" at the talent show? Mariah answered correctly: false! Tina follows up: do you remember what he does sing? Mariah: "he sings a different song." Mariah follows up saying she genuinely didn't remember, but Fighters aren't so convinced. Not trying to pit these two icons against one another. Just interested in your thoughts BTW... the correct answer is Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful." Xtina part starts at 2:05.
  4. The US Open aired a performance Mariah Carey gave of "Save The Day" (from her forthcoming project The Rarities) at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Vocals queen!! Thoughts on Mariah's performance, Exhale? Related:
  5. https://ratedrnb.com/2020/09/25-years-later-how-mariah-carey-fantasy-of-hip-hop-and-rnb-came-true/ Happy 25 years of the rebirth of Mariah, the queen of remix. The ultimate rebirth.. From the Whitney Houston type pop star evil man tried to create to the sexy R&B siren. In the liner notes of #1 to infinity. Mariah low key claim's in a very shady way. This track has launched the career of a few singers, so I've been told. Low key she acknowledges. Without fantasy, there would be no Jlo. God I love her shady Truth teas
  6. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/25/opinion/mariah-carey-fans.html?smid=tw-nytopinion&smtyp=cur I love you (But do you love Mariah Carey)? Basically a gay man had to accept the fact that his dreamlover would end up not being a Mimi fan like he is. The opinion states several Times he ended a relationship over their hatred of Mariah as he sees her as God or a Jesus Christ figure in his life. It took therapy for him to accept the fact that the ideal man will never see her, the way he does. But he also realized he'll never be happy. And in the opinion he states he rather be single and not date or hook up. Bottom line Men come and Go, Mariah won't.
  7. Tomorrow in the US, is a day of somber that many ways changed America. But as someone pointed The lambs tend to share a horrible gif, that should stop being shared. And, they Are right, you can love Mariah Carey, but out of respect stop sharing the gif that sees the first plane go into the towers. So tomorrow is 9/11 and I know some of y'all love Mariah Carey. That being said, I wanna let the Lambs know that sharing the gif of the Glitter billboard in front of the burning towers is so unnecessary, gross, and just downright cruel because it looks like you guys don't understand the terror that came from that day. I know you like your humor and deal with trauma in different ways, but there are a time and a place for it. Seeing images of the burning towers, in general, is traumatizing, honestly. I know it’s history and such, but please add a trigger warning when you share it on facebook or other social media platforms. I am pretty sure nobody wants to see that on their daily scrolls. Not only because you’re literally reopening some wounds, but like, no one wants to see graphic violence on their screen.
  8. Mariah Carey is releasing a new compilation album titled The Rarities, which will feature unreleased material, including demos and b-sides. It's out October 2nd. The tracklist is out now: 1. Here We Go Around Again 2. Can You Hear Me 3. Do You Think of Me? 4. Everything Fades Away 5. All I Live For 6. One Night 7. Slipping Away 8. Out Here on My Own 9. Loverboy (Firecracker Original Version) 10. I Pray 11. Cool on You 12. Mesmerized 13. Lullaby of Birdland 14. Save the Day 15. Close My Eyes Mariah recently dropped a new single with Lauryn Hill titled "Save The Day." It samples Hill's vocals in the Fugee's version of "Killing Me Softly" and produced by Jermaine Dupri. Listen below: The Lambs are being FED The compilation comes on the heels of Mariah's recent promo campaign. She's been giving fans rare content for the last two months in celebration of her debut 30 years ago. See a roundup here. Are you excited for The Rarities, Exhale?!
  9. The current social campaign #MC30 is truly a love letter from the greatest vocalist of our time, Mariah Carey. Most of us thought she would skip the 1998 #1's era given how she Never wanted that album to exist in the first place. Which is why Mimi, opened up the album to her fans, saying it's not a greatest Hits album, it's too soon, but a thank you for letting these singles hit #1 on the US Billboard hot 100. Mimi Still to this day is the only artist in history to have a #1 single in every calendar year of a decade (90s) and when All I want for Christmas is you topped the hot 100 in 2019. It made Mimi the first act to have a #1 single from her first 7 studio albums, no other artist has yet to achieve these records. As a compromise between her and Sony music. They agreed to just 4 New songs. Originally the idea was just the 13 #1 singles, But Mimi felt like that was cheating her fans. So the 4 new songs was Sweetheart (cos I ain't got one, haha), When you believe it with Whitney Houston, a re recording of Whenever you call, a fan favorite track from butterfly with Brian Mcknight and A cover of I Still believe, a tribute to Brenda K. Starr, who's original take has Mimi on the background vocals. Oddly the Mariah Carey take is actually more popular than the original version in the US. Peaking at #4 on the US Billboard hot 100, while the original stalled at #13 and is noted as Brenda's only got 100 appearance. Here Spanish versions of Hero, Open Arms (a fan Favorite take on the journey classic), My all, Plus rare promotional Latin dance remixes of My All.
  10. Brian tanaka and Mimi go all the way back to Mariah's most successful tour to date The adventures of Mimi, you can see the chemistry and Sexual tension right from The start. Brian already had his eyes set on her, but knew Nick Cannon was in the picture, so what do you do, wait and stay single til your queen is free. The lambs like this relationship cos he truly knows his place, unlike the other men who didn't know they actually had a place in the relationship with Mimi, her way or no way at all.
  11. As if the queen of Nostalgia, couldn't get anymore celebratory. The queen herself, well lambs detective work as usual. Just like the Britney army, the lambs are probably the top detectives. She's releasing A Spanish Ep titled Mariah en Espanol. I think these releases are winding down due to the fact that we really only have rainbow and glitter eras left. Rainbow is part of Sony music (her current label) and she owns glitter, it Will be hard to see if she can work out a deal with universal music to pull through the Remixes they own. But I'm excited none the less Tracklist as follows Spanish versions of hero, Open Arms and my all (with a few Latin dance mixes of mi todo included)
  12. Mariah Carey recalls an “extremely uncomfortable” moment with Ellen DeGeneres in in 2008 in which she felt pressured to reveal she had a pregnancy that she later miscarried. In their interview together, Ellen asked Mariah to confirm or deny tabloid rumor that she was expecting a baby with then-husband Nick Cannon. Carey avoided the subject. To try and get info out of her, DeGeneres offered Carey a glass of champagne to “toast not being pregnant”. Ellen noticed Mariah fake sipped the champagne from her glass, promoting Ellen to shout: “You are pregnant!” “I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment is all I can say,” Carey recalls in a new interview with Vulture. “And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath.” She continued: “I wasn’t ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage. I don’t want to throw anyone that’s already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn’t enjoy that moment.” Mariah added she wished “empathy” had “been implemented” in the moment, adding: “But what am I supposed to do? It’s like, ‘What are you going to do?’” Below is the interview. Thoughts, Exhale?
  13. Who doesn't love Christmas? The best holiday ever! The gayest one as well. From over the top decorations, to having the perfect excuse to gain weight at all fo the Christmas parties your family and friends invite you to (and expect you to go), to Santa Claus, and the Christmas Queen herself Mariah Carey. Christmas and Mariah Carey are a big pop culture staple now, it doesn't feel Christmas without her. Apple TV+ announced an exclusive concert with Mariah is coming December. Apple Music will house the exclusive audio album on their platform. Reportedly part of the huge multi-million dollar contract she signed. She has to make the money back somehow. Mariah paid Virgin and Universal Music a whopping $160 million of her alleged $500 million fortune to make Glitter available on streaming platforms. I can't wait queen to see what she offers for this exclusive concert. Are YOU watching?! Related:
  14. The meaning of Mariah Carey out September 29, in book or exclusive audible audiobook, read by Mimi herself.. Tackles Ellen DeGeneres, Glitter era, Tommy mottola, her childhood, The treatment of her Brother and sister, basically giving her side of the story. Topics she won't cover, Her bipolar disorder (like the host says, glitter era Will touch basically on that diagnosis anyway), Eminem Is safe, but nobody asked her if j.lo would be covered and addessed (I think yes it will and she will as well, given how it's all tied to Tommy using Jlo as a way to get back at Mimi, like lashing out, his biggest act, rebelled and needs to pay for what she did. Honestly if both Mariah and jlo had a sit down, the bottom line is both were being played against each other, and obviously both are innocent of Tommy shady behind the scenes. The fact that Irv Gotti, even said. "Tommy, wanted whAt we did for Mariah, but give it to jlo, and make it more about her". I seriously can't wait for this book, and for all the tea that she's going to spill.
  15. On August 31,1993. Mariah Carey released her third studio album "Music Box". Hero, Anytime you need a friend, Music Box, Without you, just to hold you once again and All I ever wanted was produced by Mariah Carey and Walter Afaniasieff, establishing a hugely successful songwriting and production team of the 90s.. The Album went to #1 in The UK, Australia, and several markets that she wasn't really successful at. Five singles were released. Dreamlover and Hero her 7th and 8th #1 singles on the Hot 100, her cover of Without You, peaked at #3, But was her first massive successful #1 single across Europe. Between 1993-1996. This is the period where Mariah Carey was having international success, which would end when she changed her radio friendly sound to a more hip hop based, beginning with Butterfly, outside Asia and The United States, her music wasn't as much as successful in Europe or Australia. Anytime you need a friend while a huge club Hit actually was her First US chart hit to not go top ten it stalled at #11 on the hot 100 but once again was a bigger success in Europe. Two Tracks were b sides. "do you think of me, B side to dreamlover, the detective in the lambs went by according to the time stamps and made it as a theory that track 3 is Do you think of me on her upcoming Rarities project. Along with the international Bonus Track and B side to hero, The fan favorite "Everything fades away". With updated sales from Sony Music entertainment. With 35 million albums. "music box" is her best selling Album to date.
  16. We're in the Butterfly era, Mimi's favorite Album of her entire career,. We got 5 remix EPS. And some revealtions. Her 13th #1 hit And 1998 Prom staple "My All" and "The Roof (Back in time) are about Derek Jeter. My all reveals in the lyrics she was longing for him even during her marriage to Tommy "jailguArd" Mottola "I give my all For your love tonight I risk my life, to feel your body next to mine Cos I can't go on, without you by my side. I give my all for your love tonight" Basically revealing she had thoughts in cheating on Tommy. The Roof revealed she did exactly that. Hooked up with him on a roof top celebrating the Yankees winning the world series.
  17. Mariah Carey's memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” will come out on September 29! Will you be purchasing?
  18. Between those six divas, who was the most popular female artist spanning the 90s? Not just how many records did each sell but who really dominated the 90s music and pop culture scene OVERALL? I always hear Mariah Carey was regarded as the most 'popular' but when I look at the stats, it seems like Madonna, Whitney and Celine were far more global and popular. ANYWAY - what is the general consensus on this? Who was the most popular female artist during the 90s or how would you rank them? If there is someone I left out, please let me know as well.
  19. Since both Troye and Mariah have new releases today, I wanted to share this AMAZING mashup I found yesterday. It's from #TheFandom YouTube channel, which has a lot of other great mashups too. It blends Mariah's "You're Mine (Eternal)" (and a bit of "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time") with Troye's "Rager teenager!"
  20. This is crazyyyyy "Mariah Carey’s troubled sister has claimed in a wild court filing that their mother let strangers abuse her when she was just 10 — and made her watch child *** orgies and sacrifices during satanic rituals." I wonder what Mariah has experienced herself.... Source:
  21. Mariah Carey performed on Good Morning America today and announced her new compilation album, The Rarities. Read more about that here. She took the stage to perform "Vision of Love" and "Close My Eyes." Check that out, plus her interview, below: How'd she do, Exhale?! Related:
  22. Britney shared a video dancing to Mariah Carey's "My All." You wouldn't think high-energy dancing would fit with the song, but if anyone can make it work work, it's Britney. Britney and Mariah probably have some incredible stories about each other, but for another time. Britney only captioned the video with a few rose emojis. How'd Britney do, Exhale? Watch below: Related:
  23. The queen of country music and one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Dolly Parton, is releasing a Christmas album in October (exclusively at Cracker Barrel) titled A Holly Dolly Christmas (out October 2nd). It'll include a cover of Mariah's 1994 iconic nineteenth #1 Christmas classic, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" featuring none other than Millennials fav late night host Jimmy Fallon as a narrator. "I thought, ‘What other songs are really hot?’ And I thought, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You.' Jimmy Fallon, a couple of years ago, I was on his show around Christmas and he asked me to sing that and I didn't know it and I felt so bad," Parton tells People. "So I went and learned it and I was just going to put it on my album and then I went, ‘I’ll ask Jimmy Fallon to sing it with me!’ And he said, yes. So I'm really excited about that," she said. This marks Dolly's first Christmas offering in 30 years. It also features collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Michael Buble, Willie Nelson and her brother Randy. My question is who's here for the original gay icon of country music to cover this iconic hit?
  24. Hey Exhale! Because it's a slow weekend I'm wondering what your favorite debut single is of the 20 mentioned ladies: Britney Spears , Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Ariana Grande, Kesha, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Dua Lipa, Ava Max, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift , Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor. Sorry I was limited to 20 choices and I think these all either have solid debuts or are icons I couldn't leave out. Was going to make it multiple choice but what's the fun in that? Obviously my pick is Britney and Baby One More Time AKA the best debut single of all-time Welcome to the first round. Favorite 2nd Album leading single coming next. This is the female edition with a male and group edition coming soon
