  1. Lady Gaga's team reportedly submitted Chromatica track "Alice" to the GRAMMYs in the "Best Dance Recording" category. There's also a few other nominations Little Monsters are speculating about: Chromatica Album of the Year Best Pop Vocal Album Best Engineered Album (non classical) "Rain On Me" Record of the Year Song of the Year Best Pop Duo / Group Performance Best Music Video "Stupid Love" Best Pop Solo Performance "Alice" Best Dance Recording Thoughts, Exhale?!
  2. Lady Gaga just released a short film for her next Chromatica single, "911." There's SO much symbolism in it. LadyGagaNow put together a thread explaining all of the imagery and what it means. See that below the video. Thoughts, Exhale?!
  3. The Chromatica era is largely considered a fan favorite album - and a critical darling. But is the era over?? Stupid Love had some success, Rain On Me went #1, and 911 is not getting any promo. Is it even a single? Also, Gaga is not doing any music promo. In the midst of a very heated US election year, she is really focusing on her Haus Labs makeup line. What is going on in Gaga land????
  4. Now that I've had a week to sink my teeth into Chromatica, I'm beginning to uncover meaning behind this string of super sonic somber songs. I'd like to unpack the symbology in "Replay," the album's disco-tinged dance floor banger. At first glance, I thought "Replay" detailed one of Gaga's harrowing relationships between herself and a toxic former flame. But there's something I thought of that shifted my entire perception of the song, and now I can't see it any other way. Gaga's repeated use of the word "monster" in the track feels deliberate and intentional. She could've used any word in the world, why "monster?" First, let's take a glance at the history of the word in the Gaga universe. You may recall Gaga featured a song titled "Monster" on The Fame Monster. In the intro of the song, Gaga says "don't call me Gaga." She sings about a boy who "ate her heart," and recklessly consumed her emotions. The Fame Monster coined the term Gaga fans go by: Little Monsters. In the past, Gaga has described death, alcohol and drugs as monsters. In other words, Gaga has a complicated love-hate relationship with monsters. In her new song, "Replay," Gaga sings about trauma, and I can't help but think she's subtly singing about her super stardom. In her new interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Gaga said being so famous gives her a little anxiety about the public. "Replay" also details her experience with PTSD. Can you imagine everyone in the world knowing who you are? And wanting something from you? How guilty are most of us chanting WHERE IS LG6? WE WANT LG6. WE DON'T WANT JOANNE WE WANT DANCE FLOOR BANGERS. Gaga came through with Chromatica, but at a cost? Check out some of the lyrics from "Replay." View them through the lens as if she is undoubtedly taking about her fame and the demands fans place upon her. It's wild. I want to preface this by saying that I don't think Gaga is saying she hates her fans, her career or her stardom. She obviously LOVES and adores her fans. There is no denying that. However, we just can't understand what it's like to be so famous. That fame is energized and expanded through her loyal supporters. I imagine it's a bit of a double-edged sword. This is not exclusive to Gaga, rather all hyper-famous people. I also want to say this is my own perspective on the song. Music takes all sorts of shapes, so while I may see this as a stance on the dark sides of fame and fans, others may see "Replay" as Gaga's response to a bad romance. After I had my own revelation about "Replay," I grew to love the song so much more. I can't imagine being Gaga-level famous, nor having that amount of fans. While she is so blessed and fortunate, that amount of celebrity could feel like a mental prison. What do you think about "Replay?"
  5. Do you guys think Chromatica will age badly? Or do you think it’ll stay fresh? I love Chromatica, though Discuss
  6. After a couple of weeks of being MIA, Gaga returned with heaps of new Chromatica content. She announced Gaga Radio, might have a music video with Elton John in the works and shared a behind-the-scenes clip making the music video for "Rain On Me" alongside her pint-sized pop star peer, Ariana Grande. The hard work, the dedicated, the talent, the brilliance... This was super fun to watch. Exhale, is "Rain On Me" the gift that keeps on giving? The answer is yes.
  7. Lady Gaga posted footage from her Chromatica photoshoot. She soundtracked it to "Sine From Above" with Elton John. Elton John also recently posted a video in front of a green screen. Do you guys think it’s a new single? Related:
  8. Well 2021 would be a iconic year for gaga, because she's got a lot of success back with #Chromatica, 13 Years from the fame ORIGINAL , 12 From the Fame Monster, 10 From Born This Way, 8 years for Artpop and 5 From Joanne. So Its one of the most expected shows, we know Joanne world tour not finished as we wanted, So I Think the setlist would be into this very GP Setlist + Fan Favs + Mixing the 4 Past Albums , I know may look as a cut show, but Gaga shows aren't than longer Chromatica Intro "Looking 4 Wonderland" Marry The Night 1. 9. With the Grammy's coming up early next year and Taylor's folklore being a sure frontrunner, do you think she will enter the album for Pop categories or Alternative? Can you enter individual tracks in each? I'm truly not sure what is possible there, and would love your thoughts, Tay stans and fans! - Additionally, who will get album of the year? I can think of only vast majority women. Front-runners off the top of my head are... Taylor Swift - folklore Lady Gaga - Chromatica Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher Harry Styles - Fine Line The Chicks - Gaslighter Sawayama - Sawayama
  10. I'm curious if any of you guys have heard any good unofficial remixes off this album because I might want to remix the whole thing and I need to hear the competition lol Related:
  11. Rolling Stone says Dua Lipa's hit Future Nostalgia track "Don't Start Now" and Doja Cat's #1 hit "Say So" inspired Lady Gaga's new album Chromatica. They published a piece with interviews from songwriter Emily Warren, Ian Kirkpatrick and Caroline Ailin (all of whom worked on Future Nostalgia). They opened up about the revived disco sound that's heavily influenced again in today's pop music, including Dua and Doja Cat's music. Cue Chromatica, which taps into disco's lovechild of '90s house. What Rolling Stone didn't mention is that Gaga worked on Chromatica for years prior to Dua and Doja releasing their music. Gaga also released a cover of disco banger "I Want Your Love" with Nile Rodgers in 2016. So Exhale, what do you think? Did Dua and Doja inspire Gaga? Or was it the other way around? Related:
  12. With just four weeks in the top ten, what seemed to be a hit sure backfired. Little Monsters and Gaga herself are used to seeing Gaga stay in the top ten for a month or two. Even Joanne lasted longer in the top ten. Fans and the press are wondering if Gaga should have waited until she could properly promote an album like Chromatica. It's definitely becoming her first bona fide flop in the US. Even "Rain On Me" wasn't the hit that was expected despite debuting at #1. It's also sad that she is no longer the main pop girl, and in this current generation she is out of touch. Maybe a hip hop trap album would have been more successful than 90s dance pop?
  13. After Nicki Minaj teased Pink Friday 2, I started listening to Pink Friday and it's truly iconic and her flow on it is impeccable. It got me thinking that she neesd to collaborate with Lady Gaga ASAP! She literally collabed with every main musical act: Britney, Christina, Madonna, Katy, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Ariana, Mariah, Avril, Alicia Keys, Ciara, Fergie, Drake, Eminem, Bieber, Chris Brown, Kanye, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, Will.i.am, David Guetta, Usher and many more hip-hop & pop acts including Cardi, Trina, Foxy, Megan & Doja. How come she hasn't collaborated with Gaga? Maybe because the media tried to compare their unique style in the past? It's been a decade - we need a 911/Alice/Plastic Doll remix with the Queen! Do you agree? Is there an icon she hasn't collabed with (Adele ?) Related:
  14. Considering how long cascada song has been out still a better song than fun tonight
  15. Chromatica is hands down Lady GaGa’s WORST album (and I hated Joanne...so that’s saying something). The songs are all over the place, yet all sound the same...the album should be called oxymoronica. (For the record, I am a GaGa fan, but no longer a stan like I was during TFM). Most of the production on Chromatica sounds dated and would’ve been current circa 2013-2016 when the skrillex (Where are you now) type sound was all over the radio. On Chromatica, it just comes off as dated. Also, as beautiful as Lady Gaga’s voice is, I think she spends most of the album screaming at us rather than giving us harmonies. Another thing that kills the album are the 3 unnecessary interludes. Nobody asked for that and nobody is listening to them. “Stupid Love” was a terrible song and a terrible choice for the lead single (I’m disappointed Max Martin even had a part in that 💩). The writing on most of the songs is terrible. If Britney Jean Spears released “sour candy” as a solo single, exhale would’ve dragged her to the depths of hell. If Selena Gomez or Katy Perry released “plastic doll” or “911”, exhale would’ve dragged them to the depths of hell. Most of the songs on this album are terrible, but because it’s GaGa, nobody is saying it. Everyone hated “artpop”, but that album was FAR better than Chromatica. The writing on artpop was creative. Everything on Chromatica sounds like “a, b, c, 1, 2, 3”. Now, in a plot twist, “Rain on Me” is one of the best songs she’s ever released. I think her voice sounds gorgeous on the track (this is the only song where she isn’t screaming), I think the writing is creative, and I think the video is stunning. I also like “1000 doves” 🕊 In conclusion, I want more “rain on me” and less “sour candy”. Does anyone think Chromatica is her best work?
  16. Gaga is on another level when it comes to creatively writing emotional but fun pop music and she also uses great word play. So many #Chromatica songs are relatable to Britney. Alice, Free Women, Fun Tonight, 911, Plastic Doll, (imagine a video with a Lucky continuation) Replay, even Babylon. Then you add Danja who is a master at putting raw emotion into his production. I’d be here for other writers and producers but I’d die if they were executive producers alongside Brit. She needs creatives with depth for B10. I can’t begin to imagine the slayage of these three working together. One can wish.
  17. Lady Gaga's "Alice" is a low sampling of Madonna's "Nothing Really Matters" in my opinion. Give both a listen and see the similarities:
  18. Lady Gaga's #Chromatica Ball tour is rescheduled to summer 2021. She'll kick things off July 25 in Paris before making her way to London on the 30th. On August 7th, Gaga will perform in Boston, followed by shows in Toronto, New Jersey and Chicago. Check out the dates below. Exhalers, do you plan on going?!
  19. In line of what's probably gonna be cancelled the summer brief 3 city tour, Gaga is making Chromatica into a Visual film, which From hearing the album. It just makes sense, it's an album that deserves a visual treatment the way it completely connects from one track to another. I'm here for it, Are you guys here For Chromatica: The Movie.
  20. Chromatica II is by far the best instrumental on Chromatica. The last 10 seconds or so of the track Chromatica II has always reminded me of something and I think I have figured it out. I think it is an interpolation of Poker Face. Let me know what you think Am I wrong?
  21. Lady Gaga and Paper magazine threw a #Chromatica fundrager tonight. Basically, fans jump on a Zoom and club it together at home. Proceeds went to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute. They defend and protect the human rights of Black transgender and gender non-conforming people. The live stream was low-key but lit Some Little Monsters were doing poppers. You down to rage, Exhale?
  22. Long time BreatheHeavy lurker, and mega Britney stan. Just wanted to take a moment to appreciate Lady Gaga and her absolutely mind blowing vocals on Fun Tonight. Her voice is the epitome of love, anger, heart break, passion, and happiness all at the same time. I can’t get enough of #Chromatica. That’s all. 😃
